2011 YAC Spring Conference – YAC’s Aloha Affair

Like Golf? Join us! It’s a four person scramble format and team trophies will be awarded at the closing banquet. Tee times begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Wawashkamo Golf Course, Michigan’s longest continuously running golf course. To make the tee time, be sure to stay on the island Tuesday night, or catch the first ferry in the morning from the mainland.

The Commercial Lines Buffet
Bill Morrison, LIC, LAB Agency, Canton, Michigan
A little of this and a little of that – all to make your bottom line fat. A little bit of knowledge can go a long way in beating the competition. This class will examine quirks found in CGL, Commercial Property and Business Auto policies. Bill will look at liability limits for multiple locations, property rented to others and product exposures. He’ll also cover value reporting forms, blanket limits and improvements and betterments, all found in the Commercial Property policy. Lastly, Bill will examine how the CGL and Business Auto policy function together when it comes to loading and unloading exposures. You might find that any of these little things could lead you to a big commission. The buffet is open and you are invited. Filed for 2 hours P/C Michigan CE credit.

Things Every Producer “Auto” Know!

A multi-spectrum look at the Personal Auto policy with just a touch of Business Auto thrown into the mix. Includes the definition of, “Who is an Insured?+” as found in the Liability section of the PAP, paying particular attention to vicarious liability. Bill will examine the exclusions found in the Liability section with a concentration on autos furnished or available for your regular use. He’ll also compare and contrast the endorsements of Extended Non Owner coverage for the Named Individual, A Named Non Owner coverage and Drive Other Car. Includes examination of Physical Damage coverage, and how the coverages apply to rented and non-owned vehicles. Filed for 2 hours P/C Michigan CE credit.

Instead, come listen to Bill outline the characteristics of ethical conduct and take part in case studies that examine ethical dilemmas and how they impact the industry. You’re a Fiduciary: What Does That Mean in Reality?
Fiduciary Liability: Roles- Responsibilities-Realities

Mike McBride, Mason-McBride, Inc., Troy
Mike will introduce and discuss the elements and emerging issues of fiduciary liability and its role within a client’s broader executive protection risk management practices and coverage. Includes who all the players are in the category of fiduciary liability, their core responsibilities, litigation examples, the fiduciary responsibilities under §404(a) of ERISA and how investment due diligence can help mitigate fiduciary liability. Mike will also discuss how §404(c) of ERISA works and how an employer can help minimize their risk. Includes a review of the basic construction of a Fiduciary liability policy and what to look for in terms of coverage, as well as review of a fiduciary case study through the eyes of investment fund performance and why a returns only analysis is deficient. Approved for 2 hours, (1 hour P/C, 1 hour Ethics) of Michigan CE credit. Provider 0007, Course #56018.
